A Design Output Is Not a Restated Requirement
A Design Input says what the device shall do. A Design Output says exactly what to build so it does.

A Design Input says what the device shall do.
A Design Output says exactly what to build so it does.
That gap is where projects quietly fail.
A drawing with a dimension and a tolerance is an output.
A material specification with a grade and a supplier is an output.
A released software build is an output.
The stent shall resist fracture under cyclic loading is an input.
The fatigue specification, the geometry, the material callout, the acceptance limits: those are the outputs.
Three principles keep outputs honest.
Each output traces to an input. No orphan specifications.
Each output is expressed so it can be verified. If you cannot test it, it is not finished.
Each output is released under change control. A specification that lives in someone's drive is not an output.
Outputs that meet these three are ready for Design Verification and Design Validation.
Outputs that do not will generate rework you pay for twice.
The Device Master Record is the sum of your outputs.
Build it on purpose, not by archaeology at transfer.
rmForge ties each risk control to the requirement and the output it lives in, so the trace is the record, not a reconstruction.
